Whether it's a professional blueprint or a blank canvas, our skilled designers enhance and perfect every detail, ensuring your product stands out with unmatched excellence and precision.

Excellence & Precision Start with Designing

Design and engineering are key in sheet metal fabrication. They ensure products meet specifications, quality, and cost goals. This boosts production efficiency, reduces problems, meets customer expectations, and keeps TZR competitive.

When we get your design, we conduct thorough evaluations to identify and address any potential issues early in the process. Our goal is to enhance the cost-effectiveness of your products and maximize your return on investment (ROI).

01

Prototyping

We can reverse engineer and generate CAD drawings from rough sketches or physical models. We also expedite prototype development for design validation.

02

DFM(Design for Manufacturability)

In the design phase, we collaborate with clients to conduct design assessments, proactively addressing potential risks, and expediting the journey to a successful product launch.

Designing & Engineering

We are well-equipped to assist you in designing products or individual components, ensuring your vision is brought to life with precision and expertise.

Factors to Consider When Designing

For design uniformity, it’s best to keep the wall thickness consistent. Different thicknesses mean more sheet variations, which can cause delays and shape issues.

Bend allowance is extra material for a part’s flat pattern. It accounts for the stretching and deformation of sheet metal during bending.

The K Factor in sheet metal is the neutral axis of the material thickness ratio. It varies based on material properties and thickness. Typical K Factor values range from 0.3 to 0.5.

To avoid cracks or shape problems, the inside bend radius should be at least as thick as the sheet. Using the same bend radius across a part saves costs. Bending in one plane also reduces the need for repositioning during manufacturing.

Choosing material involves considering use, formability, weldability, corrosion resistance, strength, weight, and cost. Sheet thickness depends on strength needs.

Holes and slots should be as large as the sheet metal thickness to avoid issues. Smaller sizes increase punch load and burring. Keep holes away from edges to prevent bulging. Space holes at least twice the sheet metal thickness apart.

Designed & Engineered to Your Specifications

TZR assigns two expert designers to take care of your design concerns for the project. They meticulously identify and mitigate potential risks in your design, ensuring optimal performance of the final product. Additionally, they can make suitable changes to lower production costs and maximize overall yield.
